Chelated Silver™ is the active ingredient in Silver Soft®. Molecular particles of silver are evenly dispersed throughout a healthful, skin-loving solution of deionized water, antiseptic ingredients and fruit polypectate. Chelated Silver™ is a clear liquid that typically turns light gold in color over time as silver reacts with light. Silver Soft® does not contain alcohol, chlorine or iodine-based chemicals, is non-drying and may be used as often as desired.
Even though it is a powerful microbicide, silver is non-toxic to the human body but is lethal to a wide variety of bacteria, fungi, mold, parasites, and viruses. What is the difference between Chelated Silver™ and Colloidal Silver?
Chelated Silver™ is silver molecules (the smallest particle of a substance composed of one or more atoms) in solution. It is vastly different from silver-based dietary supplement products known as colloidal silver, which is elemental (unrefined) silver in suspension (typically at a level of 10-50 ppm / parts per million). In colloidal silver, finely divided particles of elemental silver are randomly floating in suspension in water and are not evenly dispersed. In CHELATED SILVER™, molecules of pure, crystallized silver are chemically bonded to nonmetallic molecules, and are therefore evenly dispersed throughout the solution. This bonding in solution considerably enhances Chelated Silver's™ antimicrobial action and persistence (killing power over time).
